Aloe Hills Naturopathic Linda Ferguson, N.D. |
Dr. Linda Ferguson is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in the
state of Arizona, holding a degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic
Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. She also
holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University,
Sacramento. Dr. Ferguson did a lengthy
internship with Dr. Alan Goldhammer, specializing in fasting supervision in northern
California. She did a preceptorship
with Dr. Dawn Bantel, N.D. at Mirasol, an organization specializing in treating
Eating Disorders in Tucson, Arizona.
These two areas seem contradictory; however, they are both very
important areas of study in her specialty of “cleansing and detoxifying programs”
along with helping people with “weight issues.”
Before entering naturopathic medical school, Linda did
extensive self study of herbs and natural healing. She has done many lengthy fasts herself, including juice fasts and
water fasts, lasting from one week to 40 days.
Linda developed “Letting go of Weight” in Sacramento,
California in 1985. This was a six-week
program designed to teach people how to get in touch with their feelings and
trust their body’s wisdom to know the foods to eat in proper proportions to
achieve optimal health and ideal weight.
At this time, she decided to return to college to get a medical degree,
to better understand complicated issues such as eating disorders.
Being very health oriented and a natural foods gourmet
chef, Linda developed “Nutty Naturals”
in 1990, a wholesale natural food company in Sacramento. She developed, manufactured and distributed
a vegetarian nut burger to natural food stores and grocery stores in the United
States.
Along with seeing private patients, Dr. Ferguson is
currently working for Southwest College Research Institute in Tempe,
Arizona.
Her ultimate goal is to have her own health retreat with
facilities for people to come and stay for individually-suited healing program. These will include fasting and various detoxification programs, weight
issues and learning how to eat optimally for
your body, or simply a retreat for self-healing and rejuvenation where
you will enjoy delicious vegetarian cuisine.
